Model 3250 System Block Diagrams

The following block diagrams illustrate the simple flow path and easy change-over design of the Model 3250 thermal desorption system.

Thermal Desorption Mode

In the thermal desorption mode, the tube desorption flow is supplied by an auxiliary flow controller, while the column flow is maintained at all times by the PCM (pneumatics control module). The inlet EPC is set to OFF.

Liquid Injection (Split/splitless) Mode

In the liquid injection mode, the normal inlet EPC supplies column pressure/flow.  The PCM is turned OFF or set to a low flow (purge) value.  The autosample is converted to liquid injections by simply swapping the syringe adapters.
